    Sariwŏn is the capital of North Hwanghae Province, North Korea. The city''s population is estimated to be 310,100 people.

    Healthcare

    Sariwon has the only pediatric hospital in the entire region; it serves 16 districts and 500,000 children and teens annually.

    Industry

    Sariwon has a Potassic/Potash Fertilizer Complex and a tractor factory.

    Education

    Educational facilities include: University of Agriculture, University of Geology, University of Medicine, University of Education no. 1 and, University of Education no 2. It is also the home of the Sariwon Pharmaceutical College of Koryo. Also in Sariwon is "sariwon Folklore street" built during Kim-jong-il''s rule built to display an ideal picture of ancient Korea it includes apparently historical style buildings and a selection of ancient Korean cannon, it is a romanticised version of Korea frequently used as a destination for foreigners on official government tours.

    Transport

    Sariwon is served by Sariwon Chongnyon Station and Jongbang-ri Station. These are both on the Pyongbu Line.
