The modern Gaelic form of Cainnech is Coinneach; the name was derived from a byname meaning "handsome", "comely". The name Cinaed is partly derived from the Celtic *aidhu, meaning "fire". A short form of Kenneth is Ken. A pet form of Kenneth is Kenny.
