    عبدالمالک یکم سامانی

    عبدالمالک اول

Abdolmalek 1st (died late 961) was emir of the Samanian Dynasty (954–961). He was the son of Nuh 1st.Nuh's death in 954 had potentially spelled disaster for the Samanid state, since the rebel Abu Ali Chaghani made his claims to Khorasan; he had the support of both the Al-e Booyeh and the Caliph. He died before he could press his claims, however, sparing Abdolmalek from having to deal with him.Unfortunately the Samanian Dynasty became increasingly internally unstable during Abdolmalek's reign. The governor of Khorasan, Bakr bin Malek al-Farghani, was murdered by the Amir's Turkish guard. He was replaced for some time by Mohammad bin Ibrahim Simjuri, and Abu Jafar Utbi was made Vezir. However, the Turkish contingent of the military was rapidly gaining more and more power. The Turkish leader Alptekin managed to gain the governorship of Khorasan for himself, and had Mohammad bin Abu Ali Muhammad Balami, son of Amir Nasr's Vezir, promoted to that post. The new Vezir, however, fell under the influence of the Turks, further cementing their grip on power within the state.Abdolmalek was not able to stop the expansion of the Turkish powers, resulting in the Turks being effectively in control by the time he died in 961. Following his death, Alptekin attempted to appoint his son as Amir, but another group, led by Faeeq, managed to put Abdolmalek's brother Mansour 1st on the throne.
